Maria Leonardo is the CASA of CGS advocate of the month for April!
She has been with our program since February, 2017 and has been on her first case the entire time, never leaving her children’s sides.
Maria is nurturing, supportive and truly one of the kindest individuals you’ll ever meet. When talking with her, you instantly feel like you have her full attention and can share anything in confidence. Her court reports are always on time, factual and detail the relationship she has built with her CASA children. Maria attends their sports events, celebrations, and makes sure her children are equipped with all that they need. As her case nears trial, she has placed an increased awareness on their best interest and doesn’t let her emotions get in the way of being objective for the court.
Her peer coordinator Janet says, “Maria is very supportive of her two children. She goes to their school events and plays games with each of them (in their separate homes) while visiting and chatting. She shows she cares in every way.”
We are so blessed to have an advocate like Maria! She is a leader in providing continuity for children in the foster care system. Congratulations, Maria! Keep up the fantastic work!
