Shirley Green has been a CASA advocate since June, 2017. Originally coming to the program for an internship after hearing about CASA during a presentation at Cumberland County College, Shirley decided to make CASA of CGS her permanent home as an advocate.
From the beginning, Shirley has been working a case with two little ones and has passionately advocated for stable housing, mental health support and educational stability.
While her advocacy efforts are strong, her personality is even stronger. Shirley has a loving heart, open mind, and will be completely honest with you. Her sense of humor is incredible and, her friendship, irreplaceable.
Her peer coordinator, Michele says, “Shirley is a fierce and fearless advocate willing to make hard recommendations to ensure the safety of the children, an attribute that I admire.”
Shirley has never been late sending a court report and they’re always thorough and objective. She is not afraid to meet with anyone and perform a complete investigation.
Incredibly focused, Shirley has made CASA’s mission for the children her goal and won’t let anything stand in her way.
She is a friend to all, a gift to the program, and a life changer for the children we serve.
